No, we don't recommend enabling auto-updates for WordPress at either the website or hosting level. Not all updates are compatible or tested with your current versions of plugins, themes or WordPress itself. Letting your plugins or theme auto-update can cause your site to crash or have errors.
While we try to perform plugin updates as soon as they are available, there are some plugins we wait on given the contents included in the update, history of update compatibility, and other factors. This is one of the reasons we run daily backups of your website - plugin updates don't always go accordingly to plan. When you have SetMySite's WordPress maintenance service, you don't need to worry about compatibility errors because we look for those ahead of time, prior to updating your software. And if a compatibility issue is found, we can roll back your software, or we can fall back on one of our daily backups if needed.
